First Collaboration : 5 Non Beauty Favorites; Collab with Fierce Paint

Hello and welcome again to my blog. This post may sound common but these are some of my non-beauty favourites.

Before I begin, here is a shoutout to the most admirable Indian Male Beauty Blogger that I have become friends with; Harivain the founder of Fierce Paint ( This is our first collab and I am so excited for the many more collaborations to come.

We had a meet-up a week ago and the few hours was not enough...and I hope I didn't bore the poor soul ( Harivain ). If you have missed out the post check out this link : .

Sorry for the delay, Hari.

So here are the 5 non-beauty favourites that make Lakshmi Happy:

1. Positive Quotes on Pinterest

I love reading positive quotes daily. I read them every morning during the traffic light stops ( has to before I get to work) and at night before I go to bed and during testing times. I believe they send out good vibes not only to myself but to the universe too. When you put out positive thoughts and vibes the universe gives you more of that. I get my daily dose of positive quotes from Pinterest.
Here are 2 of my favourite quotes :

2. Monopoly Deal

Omg, I love love this game. I carry it along where ever I go.  Play this with CAUTION!! Here is why....super addictive, you will lose track of time once you start playing and winning the deal. A game takes no longer than 15 - 20 minutes to complete. This is what my family and I look forward to on weekends. The  Monopoly Board Game is sleeping somewhere in the book cupboard.  You got to try this at least once. I bought mine from Aeon Alma and it was on sale.

3. Organos Green Tea from Alterni

I consume 2 - 3 cups of green tea every day and I like mine from Alterni. They retail at RM 28 per box of 30 sachets. I only use 1 tea bag a day.  I make it in a medium sized stainless steel water dispenser and have them throughout the day. Green tea is good for cleansing your system, especially after  greasy meals. This is organic and it does not keep me awake at night. Grown at the foot of the Himalayas and certified by Abtswinder Naturheilmittel as organic in line with the guidelines set by the German authority. If you are interested in knowing more about Alterni and their products visit:

4. Kinder Bueno

Nothing gives me pleasure like biting on chocolates. I love chocolates and ice-creams. I am trying my best to eat healthily and stay away from guilty pleasures of any kind, but abstaining from chocolates is a real struggle for me. I have a very sweet tooth just like my grandma and Kinder Bueno is my favourite. I blame mummy for this hot mess, she is too kind and always wanted/wants me to have the best in she bought me a bag (hand luggage) filled with chocolates during her visits from Saudi when I was a little girl and the addiction grew stronger each day and hence all the junk in all the right places (referring to my plus-sized-self)

5. Storage Containers (Shoe Box Actually) - Daiso

I love organising and colour coding stuff, I will be honest...we are dealing with a very mild OCD here. It used to be way off the limits during my younger I have selective priorities as in selective areas of the household that I exercise extreme OCDness and areas that I go slow with. Daiso offers a good variety of storage options at RM 5.30. I feel they are a bargain. Places like this have hidden treasures too. You need to know where to for it. Shopping my loves is therapeutic and personally feel I discover new things every time I do it (must say is a need basis, if you need something you will discover it). These containers can be found in majority places of my house. I use them to store toiletries, hair tools, food item in my pantry, craft & journaling stationeries and nail polishes.

They come in 2 sizes :
Small -  16cm x 18cm x 9.5cm
Big -  11cm x 29cm x 9.5cm

They come with lids and are stackable, so keep things dust free and organised is not an excuse any longer. If you too love organising just like me, check these babies out at Daiso.

So my loves, here are my 5 non-beauty favourites. Hope you enjoyed this post. What are yours? do share them with Hari and me.

New Series : p.s I love lipsticks

Introducing my new series; p.s I love lipsticks. I shall be sharing with you guys my take on lipsticks. Generally, I gravitate towards darker shades of lipstick and lately I have been loving everything about liquid lipsticks. I really love the formula it comes in. Who am I kidding right? I know they tend to dry out faster and at times dry out the lips completely. But, ladies beauty comes with a price and in this case you got give a little TLC to your lips prior to applying these liquid lipsticks.

Once you do that, trust me the finish will be flawless. May be I will share my lip care routine with you guys too. Quick tip: scrub your lips (exfoliate) and splatter generous amount of lip butter every opportunity you get (moisturize). If you do this you too can have great looking lips, than  you can duck face all you want in selfies too.

I got a few liquid lipsticks for my birthday, my mum bought them from me. If you don't already know my mum is my beauty guru. I used to love seeing her apply her lipsticks every morning. It was always in Crimson Red and it was always matte.

She picked out 4 shades from the Elianto's Brilliant Rich Lip Color Series:

From left : 313, 314, 315 & 05

I got mine from Elianto - Aeon Mall. The numbering on these tubes are different from the ones in the website.

The shades and swatches are in no particular order. The first one here is a beautiful coral with more red undertone. It is a vibrant color and it can be worn on warmer skin tones. The colour payout may vary based on your lip colour, If you want the colour to be more vibrant, use a good orange or brick red lip liner as a base prior to applying this shade.

If application is not even it can appear streaky on the lips. You really want to even out each layer of application before it dries out.

The purplish shade above is by far my favorite, Super pigmented and I just love the character it gives to the look. It is definitely purple with an attitude.

If you look closely at the picture above, you can see the liquid drying off to a matte finish. The darker shades in this series are forgiving it doesn't give the streaky effect like the coral shade.

Now the classic red colored lipstick. You can't go wrong with this shade. Goes well with all skin tone and majority of looks.

No complains for this one. Thumbs up Elianto.

Last but not the least, a vibrant pink. This shade is a make-up must have. Why? cause you can mix it up to create an hombre look. If you are someone who wants a change to spice up your lip colour you can add this shade over any lip colour and custom create a shade no one in the world could possible have.

Some time back when lips were heavily lined with a dark shade lip liner and the lightest lipstick color was applied on the whole lip, I bought a couple of pale shades to try out that look. God I need serious smack right on the face...What was I even thinking? (moment of silence to recap my stupidity). Once, I wore that kind of look When I realize I looked like a total wack job I added this vibrant pink to save the day. It was actually a lip gloss from silky girl. From then on I always carry this shade with me where ever I go. I would never know when this pink shade could save my day.

You can even apply the tinniest bit of this pink on your fingers and dab it on over nude shade lip colours. Nude never works well on me, It just washes out my lips. You can survive the was out by doing this. It will give a very subtle pop of colour not make you appear dead.

Please line your lips to prevent bleeding lipstick, the last thing you want are smudges of lipsticks on expected parts of your face. It will look like you just got abused in a wrong way. Unless you don't mind looking like Harley Quinn.

Let them dry, don't be in a rush and carry the shade that you have applied with you at all times. This lipsticks are kiss proof to a certain extend. Doesn't transfer when dried completely but transfers after you eat oily/greasy food. If lips are dry prior to application may give you a very parched looks lips after application.

The price is leaning towards the affordable end of the scale, it retails at RM 31.90 on-line. Different stores may have different promotions. Stay on the hunt for good deals my ladies. I am wearing the classic red shade in 313 in the picture below. I lined and filled my lips with wet n wild lip liner in the shade Icon Berry, got mine from SaSa.

Hope you enjoyed the little review and swatches. Keep calm and hunt for good deals.

Beauty Bloggers Day Out

Hello my loves, thank you for catching up with me via my blog. I had a great weekend, how about you ladies?

I met up with my new found friend; a beauty guru/blogger. He is none other than Harivain the founder of Fierce Paint ( Beauty Blog ) .

Our meet up was a casual one and he is an amazing person. Okay, where do I begin? Since I have been taking makeup seriously in life and having a serious addiction towards Instagram, I have been looking for inspiring beauty bloggers & gurus to know and understand current blog trends and to learn how to create creative pieces of blog entries or product reviews (in plain words I was stalking people), and then I came across Harivain a male beauty blogger & a makeup enthusiast  ....I will say he is a makeup/beauty guru...I will tell you why shortly.

This young man, is an Odissi Dancer too. He has known makeup since his younger Odissi days. Can you relate to why I say he is a Makeup/Beauty Guru. I also got some beauty insides/tips on how to contour the face based on face shapes, application of falsies (the one thing that I dearth at all times) and some of his thoughts on makeup. The Body Shop Malaysia follows him on his social media people. I also learnt  that our cultural heritage is so rich and we demonstrate Art in dynamic ways from him.

I felt like I was interviewing a He knows too much and I had a limited time out session with him. Another thing, that I want to point about Harivain is that he is not a snob...the world needs more people like him. I tried my luck and messaged him on FB asking him about his whereabouts and the moment he said Penang I felt happy and excited cause I thought we could meet up and do some collaboration together. Reluctantly, I asked him if we could meet up and to my surprise he said yes.

Just like that, it was a beauty bloggers day out. After chatting we went over to the Guardian Pharmacy to look see some makeup...the meet up will never be complete if we din't do that. He introduced a drugstore makeup brand called Catrice. I would have never thought that the cosmetics sold there can be worn on colored skin. The price range is affordable and the product performance is way beyond my expectation. Who would have known?

He picked out a blush & bronzer suitable for my skin tone. We need more of this in the future. Normally, I would be the one picking out makeup for my girlfriends. I feel so blessed and privileged. He also gave me a little meet up gift, Essence Lip liner in the Shade Sweetheart.

Catrice Blush Artist Shading Palette & Sun Glow Matt Bronzing Powder is a perfect wear if you want a subtle and natural looking finish. I would wear it as my daily makeup, definitely work appropriate.

So ladies, If you are someone who love people who keep things real in their blog and share the true passion for makeup and beauty enhancements; head over to his blog and be part of his world too. His latest blog post is about Product Empties #12. Don't forget to check him out on Instagram as well: harivain

I will soon be doing a collaboration with him. Owh yeah before I forget, I will be doing a shout out to the 3 giveaway winners in my next post. Stay tuned and connected.

Thank you for your time and the lovely gift my love.

Birthday Giveaway ( 31 July - 7 August 2016)

Hello ladies, I had a wonderful birthday and I wish you guys had a great weekend.

So in conjunction of my birthday, I am doing a birthday giveaway and the theme is  Smokey Eyes on Fleek. I have been wearing a lot of smokey eye looks this month and I really hope I have improved my skills.

I picked up some smokey eye essentials from Elianto & Essence Makeup. These product are super affordable and anyone on a budget would love the product range offered by both these brands. I also received so goodies for my birthday. My husband, mum and aunt teamed up and got me what I love the most - Makeup.... thank you dear family for this lovely gifts.

Okay, now let's move on to the juicy details of my giveaway shall we? I picked up 3 sets of eye shadow pans ( 4 pans per set ) for the giveaway and decided to name them with some catchy names:
Pink Candy, Perfect Purple & Sunset Samba.

I choose products from 3 well known labels that I love by far:

1 Elianto 4 Colour Refill Palette - Flower Motive
4 Elianto Eye Shadows
1 Essence Cosmetics Smokey 2 in 1 Khol Liner
1 Smokey Eyes Brush
1 Pair of Shye Lashes

Elainto's Eye Shadow are the balm in my life. I started off with these pans. Way back when I started using the they we RM 8-ish per pan.

The colour payout is awesome, but it need to be packed on first to build pigment intensity. The texture of these pans are like butter, the shimmery ones are the best. I will share with you guys the some swatches from these palettes and some of the others that I own.

They also have their own caddy/refill palettes. I love their smallest caddy;  a 4 pan palette just like the one you see in these pictures. They retail at RM 16.90 per palette. I added the palette to make the set complete. Their individual pans, does not have magnetic backing so they fit best in their very own  refill palettes. It is bulky in a good way I would say, I love the fact that they come with a decently sized mirror. The overall quality of the palette is good, I only wish the would improve on their pan adhering method...the adhesives used are not as strong, if the glue melts off you will have loose pans flying around when you open them up. Apart from that, this is good stuff.

The makeup brush is form Essence Cosmetic, if you are a beginner trying out smokey eyes you need more than one of these babies in your brush collection. Why?  I will tell you why...the bristles of this brush is soft and fluffy at the same time. The small size of the brush head make creating the outer corner V a bliss. If you have hooded eyes like me, you can use this brush to apply colour and blend out colour on the crease area as well. It fits perfectly in the droopy crease of mine ( TMI ).

I have not personally tried out the Smokey Khol Liner from Essence, but the I loved them when I swatched them at Wastons. Creamy goodness that will be an excellent base to create the outer V smokiness  and to smoke out the lower lash line. 2 in 1...Bonus !!

Lastly, you need a good pair of lashes to complete this look. I love falsies by Shye Lashes. Every lashes has it's own personality. I love the Demi Wispies, they are feel light and looks natural. I wear them on their own at times to give me that fuller lash look when I desire. They are super reasonable in price only RM 5 per pair with a minimum purchase of  5 pairs. You will definitely be needing more than 5 pairs.
