Smokey Blood Orange + Giveaway Sneak Peek

Hello dolls, I have a makeup tutorial for you ladies. This week, I created another Smokey Eye Look - "Smokey Blood Orange".

Why smokey look you may ask? I am actually polishing my smokey eye makeup skills. I was once told that the shape of my eye cannot accommodate smokey/cat eye. In the effort of proving the nasty lady ( not mentioning names here) wrong. I am going full fledged in perfecting the smokey eye looks. This is what happens when you walk around makeup aisle without makeup on, people are so judgmental and they think we are ignorant just because they are. They were suppose to help us enhance our beauty and product knowledge.

If I have the time, I really want to do more looks to share with you guys. I am not a social media addict, I still have no Twitter or Snapchat (lol) but every like on the other social medias that I get, just motivates me to do more. I am so blessed to have found ricedolls, is truly a platform to showcase your talent and learn for many other makeup enthusiast out there. If you have not visited them, stop what you are doing right now and head to over to : http://www.ricedolls.com/  and of course come back and check out the rest of my rant here.

If you are someone new to this makeup world, you are not alone and we all came from there to where we are now. You can head over to Youtube and Instagram to get inspired and stay inspired. There is always a beginning / starting point. I would also caution you about addiction issues, once you are on this side of the realm there is no turning back.

Okay now ladies, let's get down to the tutorial part:

They face routine is pretty much the same, just prime you face, eyelids and lips before you start on that perfect canvas, your face. I am keeping the same routine for face priming - Nivea Post Shave Balm & Sephora Primer. These 2 mixed together give me a almost wet/sticky base that makes foundation application effortless.

I mixed both Mary Kay Timewise Mate Foundation in the shade Bronze 1 and my Holy Grail Foundation Revlon Colorstay. I wanted a medium - full coverage for this look.  I also used the NYX Conceal, Correct & Contour Palette to contour and highlight my face.

Now for the eyes, I did the same priming routine. If you want to know how to make your pigment give you the color payoff that you well deserve?  Apply a white based primer. I used the NYX Jumbo Eyeliner in the shade Milk. For more details, read my previous blog post.

To create a good clean outer V line, use tape. I get mine from Mr.DIY. It comes with a dispenser so you don't have to be manually cutting strands of tape. Next, I drew a outer V line using NYX Jumbo Eyeliner in the shade Black Bean. Using a make up brush I blended the color out. I then took Elianto Eye shadow from the Splendor Shadow Series in the shade Thunder Black and blended it in to darken and deepen the outer corners of my crease, with a light hand I dragged in the color just a little inwards at the crease. This softened the defined outer corners.

Now comes the colors, I bought this palette 4 to 5 years ago from a makeup seller via Facebook. I did not know that it was a dupe/alike product then. Jokes aside, the color payout is just brilliant and I truly hope is wont hurt my lids bad in the future (fingers cross). I don't know the make, all that is written over the cove is MAC eye palette (lol).

The 2 main colors used are the Brick/Blood Orange Tone  & the Dark Burgundy Tone. I packed in the Orange shade before blending, like a several times to get the vibrant color to pop. Once satisfied with the intensity of the color I started blending away the harsh lines.

Next, I took the Burgundy shade and applied that to the crease area. I have hooded lids I din want the scary black and notorious orange shades to transfer when the hooded area touches the rest the of lid area ( hope I make sense ).

To complete the look I applied my new found favorite false lashes from Shye Lashes in #Demi 120.

And that completes my Smokey Blood Orange Tutorial, have fun trying out this look. Do let me know if you want a specific eye look. I will try my best to do them. Stay tuned for my next blog post.

Before I forget, as promised more details on the giveaway. I want to share with you ladies, some of the things that I love. Here is a sneak peak on brands involved. Giveaway is just a blog post away.

Stay tuned me loves.

  1. It's so funny! When I used to perform odissi, I used to shave and then apply this balm way back in 2008. I would of course then apply makeup over the balm and I always ALWAYS had flawless makeup even when I sweat profusely! If only I had known..... If ONLY!!!!!!!!!!

Well I have found home in places, I once thought will never be possible again. On top of everything, I have found home in me. Cliché much, well I don't think so....haha. When you take the right amount of rebirths..many many....then you will rediscover you over and over again. Fear has subsided, wholeness has started to take form. I may have started this blog 10 years ago. A younger self who had dreams as wide as the ocean....she never equipped herself to fight the rough tides. She got hit one too many times. Ended up in an island of hope, not knowing that both land waters houses challenges. Determined, she did make the island her fort, her safe space, her sweet spot... Forgetting the ocean for dreams, never thinking of going back to the waters to continue her quest. Her blessed heart, brought her wise words from her fairy-god-mother

Well, my mind as become a spacious playground and my thoughts creates chains of thoughts....No not overthinking, healthy thinking! I am delighted, honored and also inspired to write about a soul that doesn't know the meaning of the word "GIVING UP" .  We tend to complain mostly about the things or environment that we are not blessed with. We tend to sideline everything good our creator, parents and many of life's teachings that we are generously given. Often, we overuse our power to procrastinate but never really fully utilize the ability to  express our gratitude for the blessings we have and received in life. I personally do procrastinate, complain and constantly debate that life is not treating me kind. I never actually realized, that I am exactly where I am today of my own doings.  If the doings are of any good, I would be able to live my life to the fullest and struggle would me nothing but a stepping stone to greater success to me.
